Note: I’ve been taking joy in reading Scott’s Thoughts by @wholisticscott on both Threads and Substack. His posts are everyday thoughts tossed with meaning and perspective. Occasionally, Scott throws out great five-word story prompts; and, being a fan of the six-word story, I like to accept his challenges. Recently, Scott posted the prompt, “Use 5 words only: write a story about forgiveness.” Whew—that’s a loaded one. Believing that forgiveness is a gift we give to ourselves, what you read above was my response.
